Never on Sunday: Feminist questioning of dominant epistemology and philosophical tradition

چکیده
Through the interpretation of movie Never on Sunday (1960) by Jules Dassin, this paper opens some important epistemological questions from feminist perspective. Namely, film is set in contemporary Greece, while main characters are a prostitute Ilia and an American tourist Homer, who at same time disappointed Greece beautiful woman he meets. His inability to understand people social context which finds himself, as well his effort educate impose her own values ideas about ancient reveal much chauvinism cultural colonialism, opening crucial for other critical epistemologies are: produces knowledge, whom how approach it critically. Finally, through Ilia?s attitude I will turn also notion embodied subject. Apart that, deal with hegemonic West towards Greek past.
